How we make our weathervanes
- Design is drawn from a photograph. It has to be in a block art format so that everything joins and does not fall out when cut
- After cutting we acid wash the airplane to remove the metal coating and cutting dross. It is then alkaline passivated to neutralize the acid.
- The metal is then sand blasted to give some “tooth” for the powder coating to adhere to.
- Next we powder coat the piece. This process is where a high voltage charge is given to a fine powder and then sprayed onto a negatively charge part and baked in a 400 degree oven.
After baking the part is cooled and is ready for shipment.
