Harrier Aircraft Weathervane

All our weathervanes are made from 14 gauge Made in USA steel. Each piece is cut on our CNC plasma table, placed in an acid bath to remove mill scale and plasma dross then passivated in a baking soda solution to neutralize the action of the acid. Next the metal is media blasted to provide a superior surface for the powder coat. The powder coating is a process where a fine powder is electrostatically bonded to the metal and then placed in a 400 degree oven to cure. The result is a durable UV resistant finish that is resistant to the effects of wind, rain and UV radiation. Each piece has been custom created by Scott Snyder.
The weathervane shaft is machined on both ends to accept sealed bearings so the wind vane arm rotates freely to indicate wind direction. The bearings are sealed and lubricated for a long trouble-free life. The bottom of the weathervane shaft terminates in a standard pipe thread for easy mounting on various locations.
